About the Author
Akira Toriyama Renowned worldwide for his playful, innovative storytelling and humorous, distinctive art style, Akira Toriyama burst onto the manga scene in 1980 with the wildly popular Dr. Slump. His hit series Dragon Ball (published in the U.S. as Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z) ran from 1984 to 1995 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Toyotarou Toyotarou created the manga adaptation for the Dragon Ball Z anime’s 2015 film, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. With volume 3 of Dragon Ball Super we finally have arrived at the arc where the breakneck pace of the manga slows down. Which as it turns out isn't a bad thing, as this volume does a lot to explain some elements of the Dragon Ball universe that the anime glossed over. And that means there is new material for someone who has seen all of Super and wishes there was more.The arc that this volume introduces is the Goku Black Arc, which in all honesty was my personal favorite of the anime. It's such a treat to have Future Trunks back, though the poor guy's timeline be here seems to catch a break. Seeing his interactions with the much more peaceful timeline is fascinating to watch. Add in New characters like Future Mai and the sinister Zamas and you have a great mix of tension with some classic Dragon Ball humor to boot. A final added bonus is the artwork continues to improve by leaps and bounds, with some very well drawn fights scenes and backgrounds. If you have made it to volume 3 of Dragon Ball Super you are sure to be in for a treat.
The manga is a sequel to Toriyama's classic Dragon Ball manga. The art is great and consistent, the battles are executed well, and the characterization is on-point. This manga volume wraps together the Universe Tournament saga with the Future Trunks saga, and latter begins in an explosive, eerie manner. Highly recommend for manga enthusiasts.
The best Volume so far in my opinion. Goku Black is a great villain and while he gets a bit less 'screen time' he remains a great villian and with a very cool transformation. The idea of Goku and Vegeta having reaching the limits of their powers, not getting more power boosts as they heal from near death is amazing. I love it.
Although I don't particularly love the story it is a very fun story and I definitely enjoy reading it, the art and quality of the manga itself is worth the 5 star rating for sure. Can't wait for the next one in December

I really enjoyed the differences between the manga and the anime . It’s straightforward to the point with enough information on the plot that keeps you wanting for more.
