This book was exactly what I needed this week. It was my proof that God watches out for all of us, and holds us when we need, and sends inspiration and help in our darkest hours. It's so easy to get caught up in the wrong belief that seeing Jesus means having flashy visions, when the reality is that most of the time we see Him with our hearts. We have to fight the temptations of the flesh, and draw closer to Him, and in our hours of need He will be there!There were so many beautiful passages in this book, but one in particular that struck me was this one:"The challenge of dying to bodily idolatries is that our bodies are still living. Even while we're stretched out before God in sacrifice, our fallen souls mess with our minds. Private thoughts collude with the rest of our members. Those human parts of us long to slither off the alter. Before we know it, our hands open the door, welcoming the flesh to invade our spirits.Quickly, things spin out of control.We all find ourselves in this compromising position on a daily basis. Will our inner man or woman choose life or death? Blessing or a curse? Even the Apostle Paul recognized this battle that rages inside us. That's right. Even the prophets and apostles of the Bible fought this fight. No human being is exempt from this result of having free will."What a profound sentence. What a deep, wrenching thought. None of us are exempt, and each day is a new day that we have to choose. That we have to use our free will to please Jesus!
While not overtly charismatic, I got the sense that Rohrer is open to whatever God has to offer. This book has questions at the end of each chapter making it good for group study. I'm looking forward to reading her two study guides on the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Pure and heart felt, each page takes the reader into the throne room right to the altar of God. As the temple of the Holy Spirit, believers have the privilege of having His desires swallow up our own. In the process we can grow in ways we never thought possible. We can know His heart. The author shares from the depths of her personal journey with Jesus so we may know that fullness too.I was refreshed. I was encouraged. I was challenged. This is a message meant to be shared. We can see God for ourselves.
You need this book of you are seeking to go deeper with the one who died for us,our hearts true desire and our true satisfaction,Jesus. It's so real,truthful and scriptural...Definitely going to read it again,someday.
This book is like a pure mountain stream that will wash your perspective and call you into visionary living. It details the connection between our life (particularly our thought life) and the ability to see spiritually. There are instructions about stationing ourselves to see what God would show us. I encourage you to read it and receive its ministry.
Her writing style is NOT full of herself or full of words that the everyday person has to use a dictionary to understand... DEFINITELY recommend this book
