This started out promising. Liked the layout, and format of the set. As I read it became clear this book needs to go trough the quality process. Sentence structure and grammar made it distracting and difficult to read. I gave up on this as a resource for studying after completing the first book. Just wasn’t worth the extra effort. I would have returned but was over the deadline for return.
I didn't like, its lyke an university fotocopy, explanations are very short and hard to understand.The labs are the only thing that I like.
The delivery was awesome and easy to follow through. The case studies make all the concepts in the book understandable. I will recommend it to people to whoever wants a hands on understanding of how azure vm and VMNetworks works.
I've just started working through this 2-volume set, but I am very happy with it so far. It covers a lot of territory, and it has to because it is dealing with 70-535. I notice it has lots of lab exercises that the reader can actually try. It looks like everything is there.One surprise about the book is the superb print quality. In many computer books, the screen shots are squeezed down to an unnatural size and are hard to read. And in some books (I won't name names) the printing of the screen shots is somewhat dim, making them even harder to see. This book has none of these problems. The pages are large, and screen shots have all the space they need. Font size is also larger than in most books, but that is not a problem.I was trying to figure out who the publisher was who did such a nice job, and apparently it is - Harinder Kohli! The book is published through Kindle Direct Publishing, which seems to mean that maybe the author just prepared a file and sent it to Amazon. However it was done, the result is nice.
Up until Exercise 5, "Configuring Peering between Virtual Networks (VNET1 & VNET2)", the labs are concise and easy to follow. However, beginning with "Case Study 2 UDR: Routing traffic between 2 Subnets to pass through another Subnet", The case study and it's solution appear to become part of the lab/exercise as noted in the sentence, "The idea behind the exercise to clear UDR concepts and this is not a step by step exercise". The solution then continues in the same step by step format as the labs/exercises, instructing the reader to create a "Windows Server 2016 NVA VM" with no additional instruction. Is the case study's solution a part of the lab/exercise or is it simply case study like Case Study 1. I have searched for errata/updates to the material but have not been able to find any.
Not just for certification, but really helped me master Azure cloud, highly recommended!!
Pros:The books series has the right topics and the technical depth was good as a prep for the exam! This book series along with the free Azure account helped me through the exams. It even can be used for a lot of the AZ-300 series exam topics. I personally found this book series better to read then the official study materials from Microsoft Press.Cons:There a some improvements possible in the sentence structure and used images. Therefore a 4 star rating.
